Motion Capture Data to Achieve Positional
نویسندگان
چکیده
In animating an articulated entity with motion capture data, if the reconstruction is based on forward kinematics, there could be a large error in the ende ector position. The inaccuracy becomes conspicuous when the entity makes interactions with the environment or other entities. The frames at which the end-e ector position needs to be accurate are designated as "keyframes" (e.g. the impact moment in a punch). We present an algorithm that processes the original joint angle data to produce a new motion in which the end-e ector error is reduced to zero at keyframes. The new motion shouldn't be too much di erent from the original motion. We formulated the problem as a constrained minimization problem so that the characteristics of the original joint angle data is optimally preserved during the enhancement steps. The algorithm was applied to several examples such as boxing, kicking, and catching motions. Experiments prove that our algorithm is a valuable tool to improve captured motion especially when the end-e ector trajectory contains a special goal. 2 List of Symbols All the symbols used in this paper are produced by LaTeX. In the following, we list the rst instances of symbols in the sections where they appear. We do not list the second and the later instances. The right side of ":" in each row shows the LaTeX representation of the symbol.

Introduction: Neck pain is the second common musculoskeletal disorder Clinical trial only by back pain. Despite the high prevalence of neck pain, its treatment is still a major challenge. Neck stabilizer training is a technique designed to improve the internal mechanisms of the spine which causes cervical spine stability and invulnerability. On the other hand, manual treatments are low-costly w...

Aims and background: Muscle trigger points are one of the main sites of chronic pain in the musculoskeletal system. The activity of the trigger points of the quadrates lamborum muscles are a very common cause of low back pain. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Physical therapy with and without Positional Release Techniques on the pain, disability and range o...
متن کاملAn automated time and hand motion analysis based on planar motion capture extended to a virtual environment
In the context of industrial engineering, the predetermined time systems (PTS) play an important role in workplaces because inefficiencies are found in assembly processes that require manual manipulations. In this study, an approach is proposed with the aim to analyze time and motions in a manual process using a capture motion system embedded to a virtual environment. Capture motion system trac...
متن کاملDevelopment of an XML Web Based Motion Capture Data Warehousing and Translation System for Collaborative Animation Projects
While motion capture has been hailed as a way to achieve extremely realistic animation in a costeffective manner, many animators are reluctant to use it or to intermix it with keyframing techniques in situations where they are required to collaborate with other production personnel due to the lack of consistent software performance. The myriad of different file formats and the performance of th...
